Wildfires continue to burn in California, thousands of people have been evacuated. Wildfire flames swallow northern hilly areas of L.A. County, thousands of families evacuated
Palmdale, Calif: Seven square miles of dry brush have been engulfed by a wildfire that is spreading across the Leona Valley areas in northern Los Angeles County. The fire affected by unknown reasons was first noticed at 3 p.m. on Thursday on the side of a state highway at a hilly area in Palmdale.
Thousands of families have been evacuated on precaution, though no fatalities or injures are reported so far. Firefighters and water-splashing helicopters are moving over the sky to quench the scorching flames before entering thickly populated areas of L.A. County.
It is reported that nearly 7,000 acres of land have been so far brushed by engulfing wildfire in Leona Valley areas. It demands some more keen precautions and activities to quell the burning wildfire. More firefighters and helicopters are to be deployed for the purpose, reports indicated.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department and California Department of Forestry and Fire said that more advanced steps are planned to counter spreading of the fire. Lashing out winds is an obstacle in fire extinguishing operations.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department’s spokesperson Capt. Sam Padilla said that more than 6,000 acres of land have burnt. Padilla said that evacuation orders are extended to areas of Ana Verde too, besides Leona Valley. As the flames have moved toward Quartz Hill, chances for wildfire spreading into Ana Verde areas are high, he warned.
