Verizon iPhone and new Apple TV: Why Apple launched TV and shelved Verizon iPhone?

Verizon iPhone and new Apple TV: Why Apple launched TV and shelved Verizon iPhone? Verizon iPhone may not materialize in any form before the beginning of the next year. Apple and its boss have disappointed millions of their fans across the USA.
People were sure that Steve Jobs this time would acknowledge the Verizon iPhone concept, though they didn’t believe that he would unveil one such phone.
This seems torturous. If Cupertino based company is really working on a CDMA iPhone to be launched on Verizon, they should make an announcement keeping the sensitivity towards it.
If fifty percent iPhone users are prepared to leave the current iPhone career for AT&T, there must be something badly wrong with the career.
In the meantime Apple has launched a fully changed Apple TV during the September 1 press conference.
But people are not very interested in Apple’s new TV. A reader says, “Not so fond of this announcement myself. Streaming from the Internet or iTunes is a nice improvement, but a goal for me is to decouple the TV box from the computer completely -- and since [it appears] that this device won't stream purchased content (e.g. TV season passes I've purchased, movies in my library, etc.) over the Internet, I'd still rely on iTunes on my PC too much, IMHO. If/when Apple moves their media management to the cloud as is expected, this model will likely work quite a bit better. Also, since the box doesn't support Hulu, I'm further dependent on a computer. This is an upgrade, but doesn't go far enough -- or at least not yet”.
Another reader says, “Ok, since I don't think Netflix is around in any country save Canada and US, I suspect this turns the device into a pretty useless blackbox in most part of the world... “
