What's Missing From StarCraft II's Launch? Starcraft 2 midnight release after great hype sees great Starcraft 2 reviews
StarCraft II has landed in the market. But before that its beta version had been circulating in the industry since February 2010. Besides, a preload version's been downloadable for the past week.
Above all the game code has been available to software pirates for some time now. But still they have not been able to successfully crack the copy. Many experts say that it is not a surprise looking at the StarCraft II's PC pedigree and offline play options.
The best thing about StarCraft II, the most popular game, is that it doesn't require an Internet connection to plumb its solo mode. The work is easy. What you have to do is that unplug your computer from the net and fire up the game. Take the next step: Type in your Battle.net account name. After accomplishing the task wait for some time. Then it starts working. The game realizes it's been untethered. After this users are offered an offline play button. And now is time to play the game. That sounds exciting.
The other advantage with it is that it doesn't support local area network (LAN) play.
Talking about piracy in August 2009, Blizzard executive vice president Rob Pardo said: "Piracy really historically has not been that big of deal for [Blizzard]." When it happens, Pardo says "for the most part [Blizzard] can shut down those services."
