Soundarya Rajinikanth Wedding: Rajinikanth daughter Soundarya marriage photos big hit. Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya ties knot with Ashwin

The South Indian Superstar Rajinikanth’s younger daughter Soundarya tied knot with her longtime boyfriend Ashwin Ramkumar, a Stanford graduate, on Friday in Chennai, India.

The wedding ceremony was held at the Rani Meyyammani Hall in Chennai where high profile guests arrived to bless the couple. The wedding was carried out in the typical Tamil Brahmin style and everyone was in their traditional silk attire. Rajinikanth was clad in a white shirt and a dhoti and a yellow turban around his head during all the wedding rituals for his daughter.

Soundarya, the bride, was first in a green silk saree but later changed to a red saree along with traditional jwelleries to adorn with.

Rajinikanth and his wife received high profile guests including his mentor director K. Balachander, director Mani Ratnam, actor Suhasini, poet Vairamuthu, former minister R.M.Veerappan, singer P. Susheela, actors Sivakumar and Prabhu.

The Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, Telugu star and Praja Rajyam President Cheeranjeevi, Kamal Haasan and actor Suriya with wife Jyothika and many other high profile guests also came to bless the couple.

Bollywood actress and Rajinikanth’s co-star in his forthcoming mega-budget film “Robot”, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her husband and actor Abhishek Bachchan, Sridevi and Minister Alagiri attended the engagement held on Thursday.

While, Rajinikanth said in a statement that he wanted to invite all his fans but could not do so because of the lack of space and logistical problems.

"Hence, with a heavy heart, I took a decision not to invite you. But I request you all to bless the couple," Rajinikanth said.

Soundarya,the bride, is the CEO of Ochre Productions besides being the daughter of a superstar. She is working on her animation film “Sultan The Warrior” in which Rajinikanth has lent his voice to the lead character in the film. The film is due to release this year which also has A.R.Rahman’s music in it.
