Washington DC: Schwarzenegger attacks Republicans, says need stimulous, Obama job bill. Arnold Schwarzenegger opined that the worst of recession is over and the economy is showing the signs of recovery.
Schwarzenegger, a Republican who recently reiterated the need to support Obama's financial regulation activities to recover nation from economic mess said that his State has improved a bit.
He told ABC that in California, "we have seen in our revenues that there's more than a billion dollars a month coming in more than we anticipated. The foreclosure rate has slowed down. We've seen that house sales have picked up."
Governor of Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell, also agreed with Schwarzenegger's views.
"Our economy has done much better," Rendell said. "We've seen real signs of improvement. In the last three months together, we only lost 4,300 jobs and we were losing 30,000, 40,000 a month a year ago."
In addition, Schwarzenegger reiterated the need for infrastructural developments of roads, bridges.
"If we don't rebuild our infrastructure, we're going to fall behind economically," Schwarzenegger said. He further said that a $1 billion of infrastructure spending would "create 40,000 jobs that can't be outsourced, that are here in America."
In the meanwhile, former Secretary of State Colin Powell accused Obama administration saying that it is moving slow in efforts to reduce unemployment and to review financial state.
President Barack Obama is moving "too slowly for the patience of the American people."
