Samsung Galaxy Tab & Samsung Galaxy S Samsung's deadly weapons to fight Apple iPad & iPhone. Samsung Galaxy S makes record in shipments with one million units
Samsung Galaxy S touches 1 million mark in shipments. Samsung’s recent smartphone series Galaxy S has become a super hit in the U.S. just after a few weeks in the market. Performance of Samsung Galaxy S indicates the rising popularity of Android platform. Samsung on Monday revealed the new facts. The company further said that the numbers suggested only shipments not sales.
Apple’s iPhone 4 was sold in 1.7 million during its first weekend. The new shipment numbers of Samsung Galaxy S is of course a great threat for Apple. Indeed it is an indicator of success of Android platform.
Android-based smartphones have been signaling big success in the market for sometime around. Recent market sales reports indicated that Android phones showed tendencies of outselling Apple iPhone. Samsung recently rolled out a number of Galaxy S models in the U.S. on all prominent carriers.
Some analysts and even Samsung attributed Galaxy S’ large of number of shipments to the sales by many carriers. Indeed it is an undeniable truth. Android phones may be finding more customers because they are available on several carriers. In the same time, Apple iPhone is available only on AT&T in the U.S. and so is the situation in many other major countries.
Even though, analysts agree with the point that an anti-Apple trend is growing up in smartphone arena. “No question there is an anti-Apple, pro-Android movement afoot,” said Jack Gold, an analyst at J. Gold Associates. “It’s not just about price. It’s also about having an open alternative with much less dictatorial control of what the user can do with the device.”
