New York: Sam's Club layoffs: around 12000 employees shown the door by Wal-Mart. Retailing giant Wal-Mart has sort of unnerved many an employees of the company by announcing that it is axing around twelve thousand employees of one of its concerns Sam’s Club.
The news must be the rudest shock coming so close to Christmas holidays.
But the company says that it is mostly laying off those employees who were employed not on full time basis, but only on part time basis.
This must be the biggest retrenchment by any company in the world in the new year and shows that it will take years before this culture of retrenchment and lay offs passes off.
Sam’s Club has around 600 retail outlets in the country with more than 110000 employees.
