New York: Rip Torn arrested, released on bail and put into rehab. Actor Rip Torn was allowed to go off on bail on Monday following a weeks' imprisonment in case of transgressing into a bank in a drunken state with a fully-loaded gun. The case was reported in his home city of Salisbury, Connecticut. It is reported Torn was released on $100,000 bond and put into rehab.
Seventy eight year old "30 Rock" actor was charged for cases of trespassing, possessing gun without permit, carrying gun while intoxicated and burglary.
Thomas Waterfall, Torn's lawyer said that the actor believed that he was at home when transgressed into the bank. Tron would not have any necessity to do such a crime, added Waterfall, who expect that Torn will plead not guilty at his next hearing on Feb 17.
"Clearly, there is no allegation he was brandishing a weapon in any manner, nor did he threaten anyone in any way," Waterfall said. "There's an alcohol issue that needs to be addressed," said the lawyer.
Torn is an actor who has won Emmy award for his cast in, "The Larry Sanders Show" in 19990. in 1983 he was nominated for an Oscars for "Cross Creek".
