Restoring honor rally attendance & Glenn Beck rally attendance: claims and rality. Beck and Palin urge Americans to ‘restore America’

Hundreds of thousands of conservative Americans gathered at a rally organized by the conservative radio and Fox News commentator Glenn Beck on Saturday in Washington.

Beck organized the rally to renew people’s faith in God and in nation and to hold the traditional values as part of their daily lives.  Beck said, "I have just gotten word from the media that there is over 1,000 people here today."

People rallied in front of the Lincoln Memorial to hear speeches about God and country in a conservative show organized just before the congressional elections.

"This is a day that we can start the heart of America again," Beck said. "It has nothing to do with politics. It has everything to do with God. Everything [with] turning our face back to the values and the principles that made us great."

The Tea Party activist Sarah Palin, 46, supported Beck and urged the crowd to “restore America” and to look at the monuments around them for inspiration.

"May this day be the change point," Sarah said to the crowd, some of whom were waving American Flag. "Look around you; you are not alone. You are Americans!"

“You have the same steel spine and moral courage as Washington and Lincoln and  Martin Luther King,” she added. “It is in you. It will sustain you, as it sustained them. So with pride in the red, white and blue, with gratitude to our men and women in uniform, let's stand together, let's stand with honor, let's restore America."

The “Restoring Honor” rally was called upon as a celebration of the military, patriotism and American heritage. Beck revealed that the rally had raised $5.5 million till now for the Special Operations Warrior Foundations which supports veterans and their families.

However, some civil rights leaders criticized the rally for being held on the same day and same place when Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech 47 years ago.
