Powerball mega millions ticket sales begins
30 January, 2010
Los Angeles: Powerball mega millions ticket sales begins. From tomorrow lottery lovers in Marylanders will be allowed to play Powerball. It is allowed in 31 other states, including Washington D.C.
Many people will get a chance to buy tickets by spending just a dollar and win a fortune. And there is large number of people who would be excited by its introduction. But experts are of the opinion that this means that people who have been hit hard by economic recession will be spending more. Most of them would be taking a risk to make more money.
All efforts are being made to attract more people to it. On its first day Maryland Lottery officials dispatched its staff in the area. They were dressed as a huge red Powerball to BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport. Other places that have been targeted include Arundel Mills mall and Annapolis. The publicity stint is going to last for a week.
The locals welcomed the lottery staff. Some even waved them.
Employees at the Maryland Lottery feel that Powerball will be a huge success in the state. And it would swell state’s coffers.
A lottery spokesman Brian Johnson said: "It's a good thing for Maryland. Powerball presents more opportunity to be a winner. It's a chance to double your fun during the week."
