Obama says he ignored Glenn Beck rally: Speculations on Glenn Beck rally attendance continues. IS the rally a warning to President Obama
The Glenn Beck rally on Saturday was a hit as a huge crowd of one hundred to two hundred thousand people turned up at the foot of the Lincoln memorial back to the Washington Monument to express their anguish over the turn of events in America.
The humongous “non-political” rally was organized by Fox TV commentator, Glenn Beck. The biggest attraction was the presence of Sarah Palin. She was one of the main speakers. Besides, the rumor is that even some Democrats also participated in the rally that very much resembled to the Tea Party crowd.
The rally will certainly alarm the Democrats and President Barack Obama as it has come months ahead of the mid-term elections.
Many protesters were carrying offensive signs insulting of Obama. This was not something new. Since Obama, the first Black president came to White House, many such rallies, including the Tea Party, have been organized. The purpose has been to alert the Americans about the dangers that the country is in after the Democrats took power. It has been nonpartisan expression of civic concern, patriotism, and religious faith.
According to recent polls, even Democrats are not happy with the direction the country’s taking.
Addressing the rally, Beck said: “We must get the poison of hatred out of us. We must look to God and look to love. We must defend those we disagree with.”
Beck is a rabble rouser, who earlier too has tongue-lashed Obama by calling him “a racist.” Besides, he had once Al Gore’s campaign against global climate change to “what Hitler did” in having scientists use eugenics to justify the Holocaust.
