New York: New Facebook homepage, new Facebook changes and new Facebook login page. As usual Facebook started to get fired by its users just as it began rolling out a new design. When Facebook, highly popular social net working site redesigned its homepage last time in October adding features like "News Feed", its users have made wide campaigns to go back to the former design.
Then, some 1.75 million of Facebook users joined a group named, "Change Facebook back to normal!". Another 1,280,000 members took part in another group "Switch back to the old news feed!!!".
This time also, as soon Facebook began to roll out its new layout on Thursday night, adding features more to facilitate navigation on the homepage, its users turned up with criticisms. Though Facebook has not officially declared the progress of its rolling out program, sources Inside Facebook say that it has already touched homepages of 80 million users. And the remaining 320 million will be followed in the coming weeks.
The ongoing redesign will mainly concentrate on the navigation of homepage, rather than stepping up visual appeals. A major change is seen in the repositioning of "notifications" tab, which is helpful for users to get notified with a new message, a new wall post or new status comment. "Notification" has been put into a prominent place at the top-right of the homepage removing from the lower left side of the screen. Beside the "notification", there is a new tab , "messages", which has replaced the former "inbox".
When Facebook officials continuously praised the new design. Users like Melisa Rhodes says that new format, "makes absolutely NO sense at all".
