Motorola rolls outs an update to its Droid smartphone on Verizon Wireless. Motorola Droid 2 is to feature Google’s latest software update Android 2.2 among many other hardware innovations.
At a glance, both Droid and Droid 2 look similar in their physical form. But iFixit reports that there are several differences in the internal components of the devices. In simple words, it is to say that Droid 2 is a doubly-powered smartphone from Droid original.
New Droid comes up with a TI OMAP ARM-based processor, which features two times better speed than Droid original’s microprocessor. In clear words, it increases processor speed from 550MHz to 1GHz. Likewise, all other major internal components of Droid RAM, memory storage and battery backup offer twofold in capability.
Even though Motorola placed same battery model for Droid 2, the company said that the new battery has been improved in battery life. Thus Droid 2’s battery life will last for to 575 minutes of run time instead of 385 minutes of Droid original. In fact new Droid phone will be working longer on battery backup than Droid original worked.
The tech world has been rumoring over the possible death of Droid original, if Motorola unveils a new version of Droid. New developments indicate that worries of techies will prove accurate. New Droid is such a wonderful product from Motorola, Verizon and Google alliance.
Android 2.2 will be one another leading specialty of Droid 2. The updated version of Android from Google will bring up a host of new innovations on an Android phone including capability to support Adobe Flash Player 10.1. Droid 2 is to be one of the leading Android phones to feature Android 2.2.
