India vs Srilanka live score: India lose 2 quick wickets, 171/2 losing Sehwag at 99 and M Vijay at 58 must be a big disappointment for Dhoni
Virendra Sehwag led India’s powerful and punishingly aggressive response against a mammoth score of 642 runs that Sri Lankan team had piled up in the first inning.
Besides Sehwag, another hallmark of the Indian inning so far is the sensible batting of Sehwag’s opening partner Murali M Vijay.
This boy who looked fit to play only one day internationals and twenty twenty matches, is on the crease trying to prove his critics wrong.
When compared to Sehwag’s 99 run 101 ball inning his patient 58 runs of 128 balls looked from a well experienced test batsman.
I am unhappy the way Sehwag lost his wicket at 99. Losing wicket at 99 that too in test shows that one doesn’t have the temperament for a test. And by the way Sehwag’s 1011 ball 99 run inning looked more like a great one day inning.
I am sure India doesn’t repeat the same mistake that it did in the first test match that it lost badly by 10 wickets and that India’s ‘great’ batting line un is able to compensate what our bowlers have lacked so far.
Indian bowlers looked like club bolwers not just in the first test but again in the first inning of the second test match. No bowler was able to show depth in his batting style.
Earlier yesterday Sri lanka declared their inning at 642 after Jayawardene lost his wicket at 174. What a magnificent inning it was!
Sri Lankan batsmen including Sangakkara, Jayawardene, Samarweera and others have shown that they have great test abilities and can face any bowling attack in the world.
In the meantime India have scored 170 runs after losing two wickets this morning.
