Tokyo: Honda airbag recall is damaging for the company and the list of Toyota recalls. Is there any correlation between airbag and gas pedal. The chances are if you are using a Japanese car with any of the two things you are in danger. Toyota and Honda, world’s two leading car manufacturers are facing the heat over faulty gas pedals and airbags respectively.

The two Japanese car giants manufacture world’s top cars especially the ones that are mass consumed across the world from North America to Europe and Asia.

But both the car manufacturers are feeling the heat of some faulty parts that are fitted in cars that people lined up to buy. Now they are realizing to their horror that the cars speed away even when they are trying to stop the car and their brakes don’t work properly.

Toyota’s hybrid car Prius 2010 is also facing the music following dozens of complaints in the US and Japan over faulty brakes in one of the most admired cars that the company thought would help it dominate the world car market in the foreseeable future.

Honda cars so far had not come under lenses. But after weeks of pressure on Toyota, Honda too has come under pressure. It has recalled hundreds of thousands of cars due to faulty air bags.

A report on Honda airbag recall said, “Honda said propellant might degrade in older air bags, supplied by Takata, blowing the bag open too forcefully and sending metal pieces tearing through the bag fabric. That has killed one driver and injured 11, Honda said, but none since a previous recall expansion”.
