HTC Droid Incredible Froyo, Motorola Droid 2 and Samsung Galaxy S fighting for the space

HTC Droid Incredible Froyo, Motorola Droid 2 and Samsung Galaxy S fighting for the space. Driod 2 offers double speed than the Original

Tech fans still wonder why Motorola put a break to its ‘milestone’ Droid original. The company satisfied them bringing a new avatar titled Droid 2. Making waves in the market the new comer proved that its claims are hardly namesake.

As the name indicates the new version from Motorola on Verizon follows the predecessor with a few plus. While the physical features of Droid 2 justify the so-called Droid legacy, the interior qualities add supremacy to the later.

The new avatar runs with a 512MB DRAM memory module supplied by Japan-based Elpida. It provides the gadget twice speed than the original Droid. And the Qualcomm chip works as the CDMA processor in Droid 2.

The TI OMAP 3630 chip which is buried underneath the module makes a tight connection between RAM and Processor in Droid 2. This feature makes the Droid second speedier than the former.

Moreover, Droid 2 includes an 8GB flash memory module from SanDisk and more TI silicon. The upgrades like TI's power management and WLAN Bluetooth/FM chips are factors that differentiate Droid 2 from the original.

However, the major difference between two Motorola devices lies is in its software. Droid 2 runs on updated Android 2.2, which features faster Web browsing; Microsoft Exchange connectivity for secure, corporate e-mail; and support for Adobe Flash 10.1.

Droid 2 carries features like gesture-typing application Swype and 3G Mobile HotSpot capabilities which helps to connect up to five computers and other WiFi-enabled devices in the home.

Meanwhile, Techcrunch had raised the issue of ‘Antenna gate” and signal missing problems for many users of Droid 2. But, neither Motorola nor carrier Verizon did clarify the issue while users are searching the solution to fix the problem.
