Manila: Classy boxer from Philippines Manny Pacquiao makes it clear that politics will be his favorite area other than fighting from June 28th onwards. It was then Pacquiao swore in as a Congressman in the House of Representatives of his country. He was unanimously elected as the representative of Sarangani province in May elections.
As desired by many common Philippine people, the pound-for-pound fighter has revealed his intentions to be along with them. The fighter said that he will fight against poverty, unemployment and lack of facilities for education in his province and country also.
“For me, I don’t consider it as an achievement my election as a congressman. It is my ambition to help those who have long wanted to get help from government. It’s just like boxing, I dreamed of becoming a world champion. Now, my dream is to become a good public servant and good leader of Sarangani,” said the fighter.
It is apparently clear from his words that he wants to be a people loving politician along with being an admiring fighter. The Filipino fighter is waiting for a decision from American fighter Floyd Mayweather in favour of an expected bout between them on Nov 13.
Mayweather raised several allegations against Pacquiao not to fight him; however new developments indicate that things will come clear and the possibility for the much-anticipated bout is higher.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao said back at home that he could earn more funds from boxing, other than being a Congressman. Nonetheless he stated that he wanted to serve people in Philippines even taking funds from his wallet. Pacquiao can amass up nearly $40 million with a bout against Mayweather, supposed to be taken place at the MGS Grand stadium in Las Vegas on Nov 13.
