Los Angeles: Dear John movie trailer, Dear John review & Dear John soundtrack: Dear outshines Avatar. The romantic film is a box-office hit with under-21 females. 'Avatar' falls to No. 2.

The 3D blockbuster movie Avatar dominance on the box office has ended. The new hit at the box office is "Dear John". Like Avatar this film has nothing to do with space and alien species. The romantic film has occupied the number one position.

"Dear John" is based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel. Before this film it has been adapted four times. However, in just three days the film did extraordinary business. In the US and Canada some $32.4 million worth of tickets have been sold.

This was confirmed by Sony Pictures, distributor. "Dear John" has young actors Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried. The film did the most business on Super Bowl opening ever surpassing Avatar. The film has appealed to teen and college going girls. The Lasse Hallström-directed film has been a great hit since its release. Exit polls show that 84% audience was female and 64% under 21.

The new hit has been financed by Relativity Media. Geoff Ammer, president of this group, said: "[Sony] did an incredible job with marketing by never straying from the core audience of the picture."

"We knew it would be red hot when the trailer [played well to audiences] before 'Twilight,' " said Sony distribution president Rory Bruer.

Reviews for the film Dear John haven't been flattering, and the film looked trite to begin with. Let's face it – Channing Tatum is NOT a good actor, and Amanda Seyfried hasn't proven herself yet. (Don't believe me? GI Joe – and the prosecution rests.) Neither would need payday loans to go back to acting school, but perhaps they should. Thus far, the accusations in the Dear John reviews have been of a lame story, bad acting, and the film being far too sappy to be enjoyable. Oh, and SPOILER – they break up, and don't end up together!
