Congress strong after the cabinet formation in Kerala: Chandy

26 May, 2011

By Khabrein.Info Corespondent,

Trivandrum: After the completion of cabinet formation and portfolio distribution, Congress party in Kerala has emerged stronger than previously thought says the Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. He was responding to the query of media persons whether the Congress got destabilized in Kerala after the formation of cabinet.

Chandy replied that what happened was just opposite. He assured the people that he would expose the ‘trade secrets’ of it later. Portfolios were distributed based on the discussions in UDF, he said. The dispute over positions like Speaker and Deputy Speaker was nothing at all. It could be solved very simply, Mr. Chandy said.

The UDF meet in the end of May would have an ultimate decision over those positions, the Chief Minister assured.

Regarding V.D Satheesan, what was said by him, V.M Sudheeran and KPCC President Ramesh Chennithala was the same. But media often would like to portray them and their stands differently, Chandy blamed.

The cabinet could not accommodate all and he felt disappointment in denying berths to many leaders, Oommen Chandy said when asked about the denial of ministerial post to K Muralitharan, the former KPCC president.
