California election results 2010 & US midterm election results: Obama blames economy for loss. Two years back when the Republicans were routed in the US general elections then nobody had thought that they would be back soon. But they have surprised many, including President Barack Obama, by making an astounding comeback.
They have won the required seats that would give them control of the House of Representatives. It is not known how things will unfold. But one thing can be said for sure that hard times for the President has arrived who admitted to the public that the losses are "humbling."
It appears that he would be readying himself for fending his historic healthcare and Wall Street reforms. On these two issues a lot of blood has been spilled between the Republicans and Democrats. Since the bills have been turned into laws the Republicans have slammed Obama and his government. It is understood that after coming to power they will do everything possible to get it repealed.
Even Obama has accepted that fact that the voters are "deeply frustrated" at the slow pace of the economic recovery. That is why they have dumped and punished the Democrats. The message for the Republicans on the board is crystal clear: revive the economy otherwise get lost.
The President has pledge to work with the Republicans. He said: "After what I'm sure was a long night for lot of you - and needless to say, it was for me - I can tell you, you know, that some election nights are more fun than others. Some are exhilarating. Some are humbling."
However, the million-dollar question is: Are Republicans are willing to work with him. At the moment they have announced in the public that they also would love to work with the Democrats. But many Democrats are apprehensive about their claims. They feel that the Republicans have only one agenda: to get back into power in 2012. That can only be done if Obama is dismantled and demolished. Besides, they would like to take the credit of anything positive that happens in the state.
