Aretha Franklin Condoleezza Rice duet reinforces Condi’s piano prowess. Condoleezza Rice Condoleezza Rice appears in a Mozart Piano Concerto to raise funds for charity purposes
Philadelphia: Condoleezza Rice, U.S. Secretary of State to former president George W Bush appears in a Mozart Piano Concerto along with Soul legend Aretha Franklin. The concert was conducted to raise funds for charity purposes.
Condoleezza, first black woman to be the Secretary of State has been an accomplished musician. She really wanted to be a professional musician before turning to studies about Soviet Union and involving in politics.
Of course, Tuesday’s Mozart Piano Concerto at Mann Music Center for the Performing Arts, Philadelphia appeared to be an accomplishment of her dream to be a musician. In the show, she sang a duet with Franklin on “Say a Little Prayer for You” thrilling the crowded audience in the Center.
But the show ultimately went to Franklin with his super performance of classics such as “Respect,” “Chain of Fools”, and “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman.”
Meanwhile chief executive officer of Mann Music Center for the Performing Arts, Catherine Cahill said that there was nothing political in Rice’s performance there. Rice and Franklin met at the White House some time back and then they pledged to appear in a concert to raise funds for some charity purposes.
Right now Condoleezza is serving as a professor in political science at Stanford University. During her tenure as Secretary of State, she was quite naturally an ardent supporter of Bush’s Iraq invasion. She justified the war travelling all across the world repeating vindications that Iraq had harbored massive destruction weapons.
