Apple iPod Nano 6th generation, iPod Nano watch: Will it revive iPod market?

3 September, 2010

Apple iPod Nano 6th generation, iPod Nano watch: Will it revive iPod market? Steve Jobs’ announcement of the new iPod has been met with great enthusiasm from around the world. Though he announced several other new gadgets and iTunes 10 as well, but it is one thing that is hogging the maximum limelight.

For starters it is not just a lot improved,, it brings every good thing found in Apple’s iPhone 4 without any hiccup that came with that gadget.

It looks perfect, like iPhone 4 and comes with a wonderfully easy multitouch nano.

Besides new iPhods, Steve Jobs announced a new Apple TV that is without storage facilities. It is connected to iTunes and Netflix.

But neither it nor iTunes 10 are getting as much press as the latest ipods that the company has introduced. Some one has rightly said that the new iPods would revive the sagging sales of the iPods.

A reader he hopes that the latest iPods reverse the decline of the largest sold Apple gadget and goes on to add, “Nothing here, as far as one can tell, that is going to reverse the coming decline in the iPod market segment. Not to criticize them, one doubts there is anything that can be done, its been a good run while it lasted, and they have made the most of it. But this is distinctly underwhelming. Or do others differ?”

Another reader has this to say, “Rides like that don't last forever but I would bet they will still sell a crapload of iPods. I still wish they would have upped the capacity of the touch to at least 96GB. Then they would have gotten me to upgrade my classic. Gonna have to wait for the next go around”.

But an Apple iPod fan has this to say, “It is still going to sell hundreds of millions of more units and the run is clearly not over by a long shot. The touch is an iPod not an iPhone and from what I last read the Touch matches the iPhone in sales, then of course you have to add in the rest of the iPod line. Sure the non-iOS iPods will continue to decline (like Microsoft) but I doubt the Touch will peak anytime soon or the iPhone for that matter”.
