Apple Adobe Flash point: Apple May Be Hit With Antitrust Investigation

4 May, 2010

New York: Apple Adobe Flash point: Apple May Be Hit With Antitrust Investigation. Adobe and Google jointly fight back Apple CEO Steve Jobs' recent letter criticizing Adobe Flash Player. Both the technology companies work together in separate ways to publicize their services like Google mobile OS Android and Adobe's Flash Player.

In a recent development, it is reported that Adobe is going to give away some Android supported smartphones to its employees. However, it is not confirmed which model will be the choice of Adobe. There are several options for Adobe with a number of Droid smartphones including the latest one Droid Incredible, which runs on Android 2.1.

The main purpose of Adobe is to provide its employees some smartphones, which will play on its Flash player. All Android supported smartphones play on Flash player, a leading online video streaming service. At the same time, Apple has rejected Flash citing reasons like that it will make the device "buggy".

Similarly, Google has also been talking in support of HTC Droids, and the company has even recommended Droid smartphones for the lovers of Android platform. Further, it is going to distribute Droid phones or its own Nexus One for the attendees of Google I/O conference in May. The conference's agenda includes official launch of its Android platform's next upgrade codenamed, Froyo. The new version of Android will fully support latest iteration of Flash, that is Flash 10.1, sources familiar with Google said.

In short, things have turned up to a situation, where Google and Adobe partner to fight Apple. Google has written on its official blog that it is happy to be partnering with Adobe to bring "the full web, great applications, and developer choice to the Android platform. Our engineering teams have been working closely to bring both AIR and Flash Player to Google's mobile operating system and devices. The Android platform is enjoying great adoption, and we expect our work with Adobe will help that growth continue."
