iPad 2 specs, release date and features, its faster and thinner. Apple keeps the momentum with faster, thinner and lighter iPad 2
Apple opened its hall of surprise Wednesday night unveiling the faster, thinner and lighter iPad 2. Ailing CEO himself lifted the curtain to end the surprise episode. The media across the world rushed to the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco to get the first look of the promised Apple tablet.
Steve Jobs once again played the role of the great host displaying the next generation iPad for a close look. Tech press and Wall Street analysts gave a great applause to the newcomer and predicted its supremacy in the tablet market.
And now we are waiting for March 11 to hold on the successor of popular tablet, iPad which grabbed a record 15 million users so far. Fortunately the device has incorporated almost all features predicted by tech pundits. Wall Street analysts noted that iPad 2 has included several key "evolutionary" upgrades.
The touchscreen tablet sports front- and rear-facing cameras, an upgraded A5 CPU and improved graphics processing. The FaceTime cameras, HDMI-out accessory and a dual-core processor are capable to keep iPad popularity in the tablet space.
Like his "welcome surprise to the event" Steve Jobs offered a stunning device which can boost Apple shares up to .80 percent closing at $352.12. Wall Street analysts also praised Apple's effort to set milestone of 100 million iPhones for the quarter.
"iPad 2 raises the bar and sustains pressure on competitors, and continues to target media-centric tablet consumers seeking a premium experience," noted veteran analyst Mike Abramsky. Calling it as "an important evolutionary step in the product's short history," Katy Huberty noted that iPad2 can remain on the top with "overall system, ecosystem and pricing advantage."
