FEFKA lifts the ban over veteran Malayalam actor Thilakan
21 April, 2011
By Khabrein.info Correspondent,
Kochi: Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) has decided to remove its ban over senior Malayalam actor Thilakan. FEFKA announced that its executive committee decided to lift the ban on the actor considering his age and ill health. FEFKA earlier placed the ban on Thilakan following the controversies after acting in a film directed by Vinayan, Yakshiyum Naanum.
Along with FEFKA, AMMA, association of Malayalam actors also placed ban on Thilakan, who was thus ousted from the mainstream of Malayalam film industry. Responding to the news from FEFKA, Thilakan stated that AMMA still continued its ban and he would resume his fight over injustice.
FEFKA executive committee analyzed that ban over a senior actor like Thilakan would not be continued longer. It seems that public sentiment over the ban on Thilakan also catalyzed FEFKA’s decision. Film fans had expressed discontent over the decision of FEFKA and AMMA to stay away an unparalleled actor like Thilakan on any reason.
FEFKA officials announced that the decision was taken without minding what would be the response of Thilakan. The decision was never reached on any influence. Thilakan never requested the association to lift the ban. Decision of the executive committee will be passed to the members of FEFKA via circulars.
